Plains game hunt

South Africa

Minimum durations of a hunt is 7 days for common plains game species.  Hunting options are either 1 hunter x 1 professional hunter (1×1) or 2 hunters x 1 professional hunter (2×1).  A 10 day hunt is recommended for 2×1 safaris, to ensure the success of the safari for both hunters.

Tanzania

Tanzanian law requires a minimum of 10 hunting days.  Depending on the species required, hunting license durations vary from 10, 16 to 21 days.

Specialised game hunt

Macumba Safaris offers the following species in our Specialised Hunts:

These species are hunted mostly in Tanzania. The number of hunting days required depend on the applicable license requirements.

Dangerous game hunt

Macumba offers the full Big 5 hunts:

The hunts are conducted in South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe and require 10 – 21 hunting days.  Plains game hunts can be included in these hunts. Elephant hunts in Tanzania requires CITES Import Permits from the destination country. Tanzanian Law requires that only Elephant Bulls are hunted with a minimum weight of 15kg per tusk or both tusk to measure a minimum of 1.6m.

Small Cat & Hyena hunts are conducted in either Tanzania, South Africa or Zimbabwe, available species include:

Wing Shooting

Wing Shooting hunts are conducted in South Africa and are mainly dove hunts.  During a 7 day hunt, we do include a full day hunting guinea fowl and francolin.  If requested, one day water bird and wild rabbit hunt can be included. There is no limit on quantity of birds to be shot. Preferred hunting seasons are from February – July. Minimum 4 gun, max. 6.

Macumba Safaris also offers the client the unique opportunity to include certain plains game in the hunt, depending on the hunting areas.  Available species on request.
